After the final battle with Queen Beryl of the Negaverse was over, all the scouts, and Darien lost their memory of their past lives, and the recent battles as Sailor Scouts / Tuxedo Mask. Unfortunatly, the peace did not last long, and Luna was forced use the "luna mind meld" to bring back Serena's memories of the past, and the war with Beryl and the NegaVerse. So it was just Sailor Moon and Luna for a while, but Serena didn't want to be a Sailor Scout, she wanted to be a normal teenager.

Darien, didn't remember Serena and his' relationship. Serena did. This posed as somewhat of a problem for them. Serena kept trying to tell Darien that they belonged together, and Darien kept thinking Serena was crazy. Serena even went as far as to draw Darien pictures about their past as the Princess of the Moon, and the Prince of Earth. Serena and Darien start acting like friends though because of Serena knowing the truth about her and Darien. She even helps him watch a little boy named Jordan when his Mother gets hurt by the current CARDIAN enemies who are controled by the two Aliens; Alan & Ann.

Meanwhile, at Juuban Crossroads Jr. High, there are two new students, Alan and Ann. Alan develops quite a crush on Serena and trys to woo her, much to Ann's disgrace -- which nobody understands because they're sister & brother? Ann on the other hand, decides that Darien is the hunkiest man alive and goes after him, which really bugs Serena. Serena and Ann end up having a contest on who gets Darien!!

In the super hero(ine) world, the scouts have all regained their memory which makes Serena one happy camper. No longer must she battle at night all by herself, once again the fighter of love & justice has some serious backup...but that's not the only backup she has. Sailor Moon and the scouts gain a new fighter on their side, a mysterious guy in a "white robe & turban" and this mysterious hunk calls himself The Moonlight Knight. Not only does Sailor Moon develop a crush for the Moonlight Knight, but so do the rest of the scouts. Sailor Moon believes in her heart that the Moonlight Knight is really Darien, and that he's the Moonlight Knight because Darien has lost his memory. But when Serena and Darien go to a virtual arcade with Alan and Ann, Sailor Moon finds herself in the same room as Darien AND the Moonlight Knight at the same time!!! This really confuses her and her feelings for Darien, but Luna assures her that it will all work out.

One day Serena, suspecting that something is fishy about Alan & Ann, goes over to their apartment to do some scout research and runs into Darien. On his way to give Ann flowers!!! Serena freaks out and Darien trys to explain that Ann & he are just friends. They head up to the apartment together and Ann decides to feed Serena to the doom tree in a fit of Jealousy. Darien hears Serena screeming and goes after her only to have all his energy drained from the doom tree as well!!! The scouts and guardian cats show up and Alan & Ann start throwing blast after blast of negative energy at Serena & Darien as well as the scouts or what they call "Sailor Failures". During the blasting Sailor Moon refuses to renouce her love for Darien to Ann, and Darien remembers his past, as well as realizes HOW MUCH Serena, Serenity, Moon Princess, Meatball Head loves him. Once again they both have their memories and they fiercly try to protect each other from Alan & Ann. Finally, the Doom Tree after gaining enormous amounts of energy, attacks Ann and Ann dies. Then just before Alan comits suiside from heartache over loosing Ann, Sailor Moon screams out for it to stop. The Doom Tree then begins to talk to Sailor Moon and tell Sailor Moon the whole story behind the Doom Tree and why Alan and Ann are evil. The Doom Tree asks that Sailor Moon heal it, and Sailor Moon obliges. She heals the Doom Tree and Ann amazingly comes back to life. Alan and Ann take the little sapling of the Doom Tree that's left and float off into space to create a new life.
